Twenty years Ago This Month...

..I met this wonderful nun in Washington, D.C. My face is obliterated not to protect my privacy as much as it is for modesty. I am extremely handsome, in all humility, and women find me irresistable. It is a cross I must bear. This was also during my phase of life when I dyed my hair black. But the key person in the picture is Mother Theresa of Calcutta.

I had just been accepted to medical school, and I asked Mother Theresa to pray for me. She said she would, and invited me to Calcutta.

I never got to Calcutta. My spiritual advisor at the time pointed out that there may be a greater physical poverty in India, but that my 'Calcutta' may be to stay in a place with a greater amount of spiritual poverty; namely, the good old U.S. of A. (especially after yesterday's election results).

Perhaps one of the girls will one day join her order, or one of the boys will help her order out. They have a house in Dallas, and we plan on going some time and helping them. Time is so short these days.

Prayer to Our Lady of the Mysterious Decapitation

Mary my mother, take my hand today, and all days.
Lead me away from all occasions of sin.
Guide me in fulfilling your last words in the Gospel,
"Do whatever He tells you."
Amen.
