Friday was the Feast of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, better known to our family as St. Elizabeth of the Hungry. My seven year old daughter who refers to her by this misnomer made her first Confession on St. Elizabeth's feast day.
We actually named her middle name after St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, but since she was able to talk, our seven year old has been praying to the Queen of Hungary.
It is such a wonderful thing to see one of my children receive one of the Sacraments, especially one which can revive and strengthen her soul.
After yesterday's blog, I found it fitting that tonight's evening prayer included Psalm 127:
Truly sons are a gift from the Lord,
a blessing, the fruit of the womb.
Indeed the sons of youth
are like arrows in the hand of a warrior.
O the happiness of a man
who has filled his quiver with these arrows!
He will have no cause for shame
when he disputes with his foes in the gateways.
Of course I still need to raise them, and that responsibility keeps me humble and drives me to my knees in prayer often.
My six year old son wanted to make HIS first confession as soon as he saw his sister go into the confessional.

Good question! He probably wanted to share some thoughts on some complex theological question with the Padre.
