A Note from the Doctor

We got a note from our obstetrician today, which included this Mass card and the prayer below. What a good man he is. He is an NFP-only obstetrician. He and others like him are listed at the website for One More Soul.

I know several NFP-only obstetricians, and most started their careers in practices where they prescribing contraceptives. Over time, they came around to see what they were doing was wrong, and after much outpouring of grace, they changed their practices. One would think that the economic implications would be devastating for a physician to make such a radical change in their practices. This has not been the case. Most are doing BETTER than before! Granted, this is not the reason for adopting the teachings of the Magisterium into one's practice, but it is a good thing, a consolation for here on earth.

It strikes me as ironic that ever since our NFP-only obstetrician started his practice here that we have had only one child - and that one was delivered by his partner(they are working on him!). Well, we are working on that.

Here is the prayer. We will be remembered in daily Mass by the Congregation of Marians of the Immaculate Conception

Eternal God and Almighty Father,

hear this prayer for the soul of my child,

and for all the little souls You have called from this earth.

Open wide the gates of Your Kingdom and lead them to the

beautiful place You have prepared for them in Your house of faith in Heaven.

Let the light of Your love embrace them.

Send your trusted angels to guard them.

Give them joy and peace forever.

Be with me as I mourn my child, and with all parents

whose daughters and sons have passed from this life to the next.

Our consolation is in knowing that our children will never be

separated from us for they dwell within our hearts and Yours.

We believe that what is seen is transitory, and what is unseen lasts forever.

Our Lady of the Mysterious Decapitation
Now restored with the help of some cement!

Prayer to Our Lady of the Mysterious Decapitation

Mary my mother, take my hand today, and all days.
Lead me away from all occasions of sin.
Guide me in fulfilling your last words in the Gospel,
"Do whatever He tells you."
Amen.
